Profile

Mike Lacktorin helps students deepen their understanding of finance, economics, strategy, international business, the Japanese economy, and the history of economic thought. He served as a regular member of university faculties in America, Australia, and Japan, and worked for many years in the real world of mergers and acquisitions, merchant banking, securities analysis, and corporate planning in New York and Tokyo. His research has focused on foreign direct investment in Japan and on innovations in global liberal arts education.

Mike describes himself as a learning facilitator, which includes showing students how what they are learning at university is pertinent to their own lives and futures outside the classroom. His passion is helping students discover and develop their own passions and natural abilities, so they may reach their full potential.
