Warm congratulations to new students on their enrollment!

Yamanashi Gakuin University welcomed its newest students at the Fall 2025 Entrance Ceremony, held on September 1 in Memorial Hall. New students of the International College of Liberal Arts and the Faculty of Business Administration gathered to mark the beginning of their student life.

The Fall 2025 Entrance Ceremony opened with the formal admittance of students, followed by a multilingual welcome address from President Takako Aoyama in Japanese, English, and Chinese. She encouraged students to embrace the university as a place of academic learning as well as somewhere to encounter new perspectives and values, and with that, new experiences. Quoting Roman philosopher Seneca, “Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity”, President Aoyama reminded students that success comes from learning from experience and the courage to seize opportunities.

A warm welcome message also came from the Student Representative, a 3rd-year student from iCLA, who spoke on behalf of the university’s student community. Reflecting on his own experiences as an international student, he shared his appreciation for the natural beauty of Yamanashi Prefecture’s mountains and the warm community of people on and off campus. He urged the incoming class to see challenges as opportunities for personal growth, and to reach out to seniors for advice.
“Regardless of how many difficulties you face, or how tough they may be, as long as you always persevere, I believe you will definitely be able to overcome them. Trust in yourself to continue shaping your own path forward,” said the Student Representative to the new students.
