JGU delegation visits iCLA.

On April 23, 2024, the International College of Liberal Arts (iCLA) welcomed delegates of O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) to its campus. The delegation was headed by JGU Vice Chancellor Prof. C Raj Kumar and joined by Dean of Strategic & International Initiatives Prof. Mohan Kumar, Dean of Academic Governance and Student Life Prof. Padmanabha Ramanujam, Dean of Admissions and Outreach Prof. Upasana Mahanta, Vice Dean and Executive Director, Centre for the Study of United Nations Prof. Vesselin Popovski, Dean of the Jindal School of Liberal Arts & Humanities Prof. Kathleen A. Modrowski, and Associate Dean and Director, Office of International Affairs & Global Initiatives Prof. Akhil Bhardwaj.

The delegation met with Yamanashi Gakuin University Chairperson Prof. Koji Furuya, President Prof. Takako Aoyama, Deputy President Prof. Tatsumi Akita, Vice President Prof. Yoshiki Takeda, iCLA’s Dean Prof. Sanjay Jhingan, Associate Dean Prof. Masahiro Toma and Prof. Rosario Laratta, iCLA Admin Office Manager Shinichiro Tomioka, and Study Abroad and Partnerships Coordinator Kazuha Aoki.

The visit was JGU’s first to iCLA, and the group toured iCLA and YGU campus. JGU has been iCLA’s partner institution since 2016.

The meeting strengthened ties between the universities and confirmed a continued partnership for student exchange and research collaboration.  A Memorandum of Understanding and Student Exchange Agreement were renewed for ongoing educational and cultural exchange between Yamanashi Gakuin University and International College of Liberal Arts, and O.P. Jindal Global University. In addition, the occasion brought about a lively conversation of potential future collaboration opportunities.

Located in Delhi, O.P. Jindal Global University is iCLA’s only partner university located in India. iCLA has more than 65 partner universities with which iCLA students can study abroad for no extra cost to their tuition fees. iCLA welcomes exchange students from partner universities every semester.
