Takuto Otoguro Wins Gold in Wrestling!

Takuto Otoguro Competing During His Time as a Student at Yamanashi Gakuin University

Yamanashi Gakuin University graduate, Takuto Otoguro (Current Club: JSDF Physical Training School) has won a Gold Medal in Wrestling (Men’s Freestyle 65kg) at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Otoguro competed against Azerbaijan’s Haji Aliyev, the bronze medalist of the 57kg category in the 2016 Olympic Games at Rio de Janeiro. This is the second Gold Medal received by a Yamanashi Gakuin University graduate after Shori Hamada’s Gold Medal win in Judo.

Yamanashi Gakuin University graduate, Shori Hamada (Current Club: JSDF Physical Training School) has won a Gold Medal in Judo (Women’s 78kg) at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. This is the first Gold Medal won by an athlete with relation to Yamanashi Gakuin University.
